The Leesburg Vintner was established in 1988 and is known for providing a wide selection of wines from around the world; great wines that fit every budget. The Vintner has a reputation of stocking delicious varieties at reasonable prices and has won many awards including the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce Small Retailer Business of the Year as well as the Virginia Wine Retailer of the Year.

TASTING ROOM? Yes, right here in Leesburg at the Leesburg Vintner. The Vintner can now also operate a wine bar!

Mike Carroll

mike jpgMike is the owner and opened the Leesburg Vintner in October of 1988 on the corner of King and Loudoun Streets in downtown Leesburg.

He visits wineries often and has traveled to France, Germany, Italy and has also spent much time in the California Wine Country.

Mike started in the wine business in 1976 when he began working at a store in Arlington, Virginia called “Cheese and Bottle.” Within two years, he became manager and has been in the business ever since.

Mike loves to play golf and is happily married to JoAnne. They have four beautiful children; two boys and two girls!

Sharon L. Babbin


sharon-sqSharon is a retired (recovering) lawyer who has had a lifelong passion for wine. She and her husband Jed have visited many wine regions of the world, but her favorites are Spain and Italy. Through travel, research, and help from her Sommelier son Marc, Sharon brings a considerable knowledge to Leesburg Vintner and has greatly extended our collection of wines from these regions. As a resident of Leesburg’s historic district, Sharon also enjoys sharing her love of Leesburg’s many eating and drinking establishments with visitors and other residents.

Dawn Klesper

claire jpgDawn spent 10 years in the Air Force and has travelled all around the world.  She comes to us from California where she developed her love of wine in the Napa area.
